Multimeter and Meter Calibration

Handheld and benchtop meters drift as their internal components age, and they're vulnerable to everyday abuse: an overload on the wrong range, a drop from a ladder, or a blown input fuse can all shift readings. A meter that powers on and displays a stable number can still be reading incorrectly on one function or range while the others look fine.

Calibration checks each function your meter uses (voltage, current, resistance, and so on) at points across its ranges, comparing its readings against reference standards that are far more accurate than the meter itself.

Oscilloscope Calibration

Oscilloscope calibration verifies the measurements engineers rely on most: vertical amplitude accuracy, bandwidth, time base accuracy, and rise time. Bandwidth matters because a scope that has lost bandwidth will understate fast signals, making edges look slower and peaks look smaller than they really are. QSI calibrates oscilloscopes with bandwidths up to 1.1 GHz, along with the voltage and current probes used with them.

Hipot and Insulation Tester Calibration

Hipot testers apply high voltage to verify that a product's insulation can safely withstand it, and megohmmeters measure insulation resistance. These are safety tests: if a hipot tester's output voltage or leakage current trip point is off, a product with weak insulation can pass. That's why hipot testers used for product safety testing need regular, documented calibration.

Power Supplies, Generators, and Analyzers

Power supplies, function and waveform generators, and analyzers are the sources and references behind countless other tests. When a power supply's output drifts, or a generator's amplitude or frequency is off, every measurement made with it carries that error forward. Calibration verifies their outputs and readings across their ranges.

Who Relies on Electrical Calibration

Electrical and electronic test equipment is at the core of QSI's work across the region.

Aerospace and defense: electronic test equipment for aircraft, military systems, and the test stations that support them

Medical device manufacturing: electrical safety testing, including hipot testing of medical electrical equipment under standards such as IEC 60601

Electronics manufacturing: bench instruments, power supplies, and generators used in production test and inspection

Energy, utilities, and electrical contractors: clamp-on meters, multimeters, and megohmmeters used in the field

Engineering and R&D labs: oscilloscopes, analyzers, and data acquisition systems behind design and test data
